Tinder is launching a students-only version of its popular dating app. Called “Tinder U,” the app will only be available to college students at four-year, accredited, not-for-profit universities in the US, the firm announced in a blog post.
Students can use the app for more than just dating, with the ability to find new friends, study buddies and more. It’s available now on iOS devices, according to Tinder. “Tinder U is a new feature that makes it easier to connect with other students around you – putting their profiles first as you swipe,” the firm said. “This is your ticket to the coolest crowd on campus.”
The app looks almost exactly the same as the regular version of Tinder, but it now shows a badge associated with your university at the top of your profile image. Additionally, in order to log in, users must have a .edu email address and be located on campus when they sign up. After users restart the app, they’ll be logged into Tinder U. From there, users can swipe as they normally would through romantic prospects.
