  • 4:18 pm Friday, April 20th, 2018 by fingers13

One of the most endearing parts of my career has been the ability to exposed new and unsung talent. Between Fingers Metal Shop and WBAB Homegrown I have had the opportunity to turn listeners and live music fans onto talent form far and wide as well as our own backyard.  So it’s nice to see when others including artists give an unknown a shot. As is the case in this video.

At a recent show Foo Fighters front-man Dave Grohl brings up a guy with Gene Simmons makeup on. He then gives him his guitar and the band breaks into “Monkey [More]

Billy Joel’s 50th MSG Show Review

  • 5:48 pm Thursday, March 29th, 2018 by fingers13

Last night I took my girlfriend and two daughters to their first Billy Joel show. It was a special night being his 50th consecutive show in his residency at the world famous Madison Square Garden. My oldest daughter, Melodie, recently got into his catalog after hearing “Piano Man” hmm wonder why ha ha. Anyway, he was nothing shy of spectacular. His timeless songs and great stage banter along with a stellar band and light show made for a truly unforgettable evening. To watch and listen to him perform I was amazed by him at his age.  You give me hope [More]

When Farewell Means See You Later!?

  • 6:54 pm Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 by fingers13

Think. How many bands have you seen announce their “Farewell” tour and then return. My first memory is of The Who in 1982. Then Kiss did it in 2000 and then did 12 more tours! Sometimes it’s a legitimate desire to stop and maybe that changes after being off the road for some time. Sometimes it’s a money grab. I won’t pontificate between who is who here. What I want to do is show this trend goes way back in the music industry and some are indeed legit.

  • 3:58 pm Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 by fingers13

When the 4 lads hit the scene back in the ’60’s no one knew they would blow up and still carry so much weight in the 2000’s Well except maybe Brian Epstein and George Martin. But here they are the surviving members still playing and recording in their 70’s. God Bless ’em. Watch Ringo chat about the honor right after receiving it. Way to go Mr Starkey. – Fingers

Potential Suffolk Massacre Avoided #nicepolicework

  • 3:39 pm Friday, February 23rd, 2018 by fingers13

In the wake of the Florida shooting and the seemingly unending incidents that have been happening across the country this is wonderful news of exemplary work done cooperatively among  law enforcement.

It always seems to happen somewhere else leading some to believe it can’t happen in my town, neighborhood, school. However it was foresee-ably just avoided as evidenced in the following release. Read and after the shock wears off feel the gratitude for Suffolk’s finest.  Kudos to our men and women in law enforcement. – Fingers

The Great Nickel Bag Controversy

  • 3:37 pm Tuesday, January 30th, 2018 by fingers13

Back in my high school days a nickle bag was an entirely different thing. However effective January first this year it became law to have to pay a nickle for a plastic bag or paper bag. However if you bring your own bags your off the hook. Some people are taking it in stride while others are flipping out. I remember a time when the last thing a register clerk said was “Cash or credit?” or “Will there be anything else?’ now it’s “Do you need a bag?” Well I have 17 items what do you think? And all of [More]

Watch – Commute to Death???

  • 3:40 pm Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 by fingers13

Hi, and thanks for taking the time to read. I have a unique job/lifestyle. I live 18 miles from work. Three blocks from Sunrise Highway which is the road my job is on. I work from 2-7 every week day. That means I generally don’t hit traffic and I’m only in the car or on bike for about 20 minutes. There was a time I worked in Connecticut as well as a time in Manhattan.

The only saving grace to the hour and forty-five jaunt to CT was I had a convertible. The city gig however was trains and cabs. The [More]

27 Years Ago We Lost Steve Clark

  • 5:54 pm Monday, January 8th, 2018 by fingers13

Def Leppard has had their fair share of heartbreak, setbacks and challenges and some how has managed to stand tall and work through it all triumphantly. Two of the worst were the loss of Steve Clark and the Rick Allen accident. Today marks the anniversary of Steve’s passing and I love how Rick chose to remember him. See below. – Fingers
